Finch was founded by Peter Finch in 1971 when he left Sun Life Assurance to set up as an insurance broker and financial advisor.
Very much a family business, Peter was joined by his son Matthew Finch.
After 27 years, Peter retired from the business in 1998, with Matthew welcoming Vincent Gardner into the partnership to help build the business.
The business flourished into one of the most respected Commercial Insurance teams in the South, whilst boasting a boutique Private Client team that caters for all of our individual client needs, based at our head office in Reading.
Finch have now opened additional offices in Basingstoke, Bournemouth, Oxford, Portsmouth, and Southampton to service clients throughout the south of England.
Driven by both organic and acquisition growth Finch has built a reputation as an innovative and service driven business.
Modern day businesses thrive on proactive advisors that represent good value for money, and, with over 5,000 commercial clients and 2,000 private clients Finch has proved that it can prosper in a dynamic market place.
In November 2016 Finch partnered with Ethos Broking, the UK’s leading network for independent brokers. This partnership was developed to further grow and transform Finch’s reputation as a service driven business.
Our most recent chapter began in 2020 when Paul Goodman took the reins as Managing Director, and the business continues to thrive.
